PRESS RELEASE Salzwedel, 9.11.2015

KRAIBURG Relastec GmbH & Co. KG is a business award premier finalist

Berlin, 7.11.15

On Saturday, 7 November 2015, a ceremonial awards gala followed by a glittering night-time ball was held at the Hotel Maritim in Berlin, attended by some 500 guests from all the federal states and public figures from the fields of politics, business and the media: the successful end to the 21st “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes” business award competition. The guest of honour was Daniel Senf, the national president of JCI Germany (Wirtschaftsjunioren Deutschland).

That evening saw the presentation of these special national awards, an event which takes place just once a year. KRAIBURG Relastec was among the winners, selected from 5009 applicants for its constant, steady growth and particular social commitment to win the special award of “Premier Finalist”, given to just 4 companies in total.

Other facts about the company:

The history of KRAIBURG Relastec began in 1991 when KRAIBURG-Holding took over Pneumant Reifenwerke AG in FĂĽrstenwalde. KRAIBURG Relastec GmbH & Co. KG is an independent company within KRAIBURG-Holding. It serves the international market with its ready-made products for acoustic and vibration insulation, impact protection, structural protection and transport protection, sports floor coverings and elastic layers as well as elastic flooring systems for horse farms and riding facilities.

Modern technology and constant new developments make the company a skilled partner for architects, planners and system providers. In the spirit of a “rubber lifecycle” the company takes back some 85,000 tonnes of recycling materials a year, which it processes to make high-quality products for the construction industry, playgrounds and sports grounds. It disposes of roughly 10 million tyres a year, which go into materials recycling; all its products are fully recyclable.

The company employs 210 members of staff, with five apprenticeships on hand to give young people reliable vocational training. This often goes beyond the company's own requirements, not only to give young people good job prospects but to cut the number leaving the region. The company offers work placements to schoolchildren to prepare for their traineeships, as well as to those requiring retraining and youths from the region who are difficult to place. In this context, it works closely with the employment office and various education providers.

Out of a feeling of social responsibility, the company sponsors projects related to sports, culture and social work, such as the Behinderten-und Rehabilitations-Sportverein Salzwedel e. V. (a sports association for people with disabilities), local schools and nurseries, the hospital, the fire brigade, the Christian children's welfare association and the Altmark social welfare association.

Last year, the company was awarded the “Altmark Business Award” for its social commitment within the region.

Altogether, KRAIBURG Relastec can look back on its achievements as a prizewinner in the “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes” competition with pride: in 2005 we were a finalist for the award, and in 2006 we won it outright.
