Recycling of end-of-life products
Sustainability does not end with the finished product – it begins with taking responsibility for the entire product life cycle. As a manufacturer of high-quality finished products made from recycled rubber granulate, we have been actively contributing to the circular economy for years.
With the KRAIBURG Circular Initiative, we are now taking the next logical step: from today, we are actively offering our customers the recycling of their end-of-life rubber granulate products. With your help, we want to create a closed material cycle, reducing waste and keeping valuable raw materials in the economic cycle. End-of-life products do not become a problem, but a resource for new products – entirely in keeping with the KRAIBURG Circular philosophy.
Certain conditions must be met to ensure this recycling is carried out efficiently and to a high standard. You can find out below which requirements must be met in order to enable the used materials return to the recycling process.
Costs & Organisation
Costs and organisation for the removal and dispatch of goods to Salzwedel, Germany, must be borne by the customer. KRAIBURG covers the cost of the granulation and material reintegration.
Working Together
The KRAIBURG Circular Initiative is exclusively available to our existing partners. Material recycling will only be accepted if new replacement goods are ordered from KRAIBURG Relastec or, have been ordered recently from KRAIBURG Relastec in approximately the same quantity.
Material & Quality
Only products made of granular rubber or PU foam. No laminated products (fleece, PVC, aluminium, vinyl, multi-layered or coated products, etc.). Maximum 5% of adhering foreign matter (adhesive residues, screed residues, dirt) will be accepted.
Photo of the goods prior to dispatch
We require several clear photos of the end-of-life products from you so that we can assess the goods before they are sent back to Salzwedel. Return of goods should only be arranged once you have the provisional approval from KRAIBURG Relastec.
Goods accepted only after inspection
Final acceptance of the goods will only take place after physical inspection of goods upon their arrival. If the goods do not meet the agreed, above-mentioned, requirements, we reserve the right to refuse acceptance and will return the goods at the sender’s expense.
Minimum quantity
We accept both KRAIBURG products and third-party products if they meet the above requirements. The minimum quantity per return shipment is 5 tonnes.
Geographical restrictions
To avoid high CO2 emissions caused by long transport routes, this offer applies only to the following countries: DE, AT, CH, DK, NL, BE, LU, FR, IT, CZ, PL, HR, HU, UK, SE, NO, FI
Legal information & contracts
To simplify operational processes, your delivery will be classified as waste by our sourcing department. All legal obligations relating to the shipment of waste must be fully complied with. In the case of regular return deliveries, we reserve the right to formalise the cooperation through a binding take-back agreement. The customer is liable for the correct classification, declaration and documentation of the waste, as well as for all resulting regulatory or civil law consequences. We can assist you in preparing the necessary documents if required.
Handling
- All conditions mentioned above must be met. Please read them carefully to understand when we can accept returns of end-of-life products and if you have any doubts, please contact us first.
- Please inform your sales contact that you wish to return end-of-life products and send them several high-resolution photos of the material so we can assess them.
- We will carry out a visual inspection based on these images and let you know whether we can accept the goods.
- If the response is positive: Please prepare the necessary shipping documents. We can assist you if required.
- Arrange the transport of material to Salzwedel and inform your sales contact of the delivery date at least 3 days before arrival.
- A second visual inspection will be carried out upon arrival of the goods. In case the materials don’t meet the required conditions, we reserve the right to reject them and return them at your own cost.
