The Olympic Museum in the “Olympic capital” of Lausanne is located directly on Lake Geneva in the Ouchy district and offers visitors an insight into sports and cultural history, the origins of the Olympic Games, the competitions and the Olympic spirit. The only official museum contains an outdoor area, the Olympic Park, in which various works of art and sculptures are displayed, as well as a real competition track on which you can virtually compete with the current Olympic champion over 100m. The interior is spread over 3 floors with more than 1500 exhibits, such as the Olympic torches that have traditionally lit the Olympic flame as the opening ceremony for the Games since 1936, as well as all the bronze, silver and gold medals awarded since the first Modern Olympic Games (1896 in Athens).

In its search for a new interactive floor covering for a section of the Olympic Museum, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) became aware of the high quality products of KRAIBURG Relastec GmbH & Co.KG and opted for our SPORTEC® UNI versa product in blue and red, as the area to be modelled on a running track. The contact to the IOC was established by our long-time partner DOW Chemical, which is a worldwide Olympic partner.

The product SPORTEC® UNI versa made of high-quality EPDM is particularly suitable for applications in the sports sector such as sports and multi-purpose facilities for volleyball, handball, badminton, tennis courts or running tracks. The high load-bearing capacity, the visually appealing design and the pleasant walking comfort make the floor covering the perfect solution to give many visitors to the museum a realistic feel to sports flooring comfort.
