Sustainability

Every year, we recycle up to 60,000 tonnes of used tyres and technical rubber materials and feed them into the rubber cycle for reuse.

Corporate Carbon Footprint

Corporate Carbon Footprint

Almost all activities within a company (from production to the vehicle fleet to the supply chain) cause CO2 emissions. The Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) records all greenhouse gas emissions (direct and indirect) generated by the activities of KRAIBURG Relastec within one year. The calculation is carried out according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard (almost identical to ISO 14064). By using recycled rubber granulate, we save more than 130,000 t of CO2 emissions annually compared to new rubber.

Product Carbon Footprint

Product Carbon Footprint

The Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculates the climate impact of each of our products. We consider their life cycle "cradle to gate", which means that we calculate the production of harmful greenhouse gases from the raw materials or purchased parts of the product up to the point at which it leaves our company. The calculation is made using a certified software tool based on the ISO 14067 (Product Carbon Footprint) and ISO 14040/44 (Life Cycle Assessment = LCA) standards. We are thus able to measure the CO2 emissions for each individual product either on a m² or unit basis.

Energy management

KRAIBURG Relastec's energy management system is certified according to ISO 50001. Energy-relevant topics are taken into account in all processes of the organisation. With our energy policy as a basis and the strategic goals, the energy programme is developed, implemented, regularly evaluated and constantly optimised. ISO 50001 also supports the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the UN with regard to resource conservation and climate protection measures.
